Hello!

My name is Chantelle and I am the founder and creator of Bush & Tail - an online pet accessory brand based in the UK.

It all started in August 2022, when the idea of Bush & Tail was conceived. My little Morkie Dash (Maltese x Yorkie... but Yorkie through and through!) was 5 years old. That's 35 in human years! Yet, he still won't sleep in his own bed. All doggy co-sleepers, we see you! I decided to set myself a mission, and go on the hunt for a dog bed that he'll *finally* rest up in. 2 years later, I'm still searching! Upon my not so secret mission, I realised two things. 1. Dog beds are expensive. 2. Dog beds are... for a nicer choice of words, lacking quality. The better quality bed, the more expensive. Makes sense right? But when my sister-in-law is paying £120 every 6 months for a bed the size of a french bull dog, then we've got a cost of living crisis on our hands.

So, that was it. August 2022, the design process started. Firstly, I wanted to create something that had the capability to sooth Dash. Considering he is most definitely doggy 'ADHD', and not left too often, I needed to provide him a space that felt safe. It wasn't too long before I realised that there was also a surge of anxious pups post COVID, now being left alone as their owners returned to work. That was the first element completed. I wanted to make a change, and it actually work.

I continued to work closely with lawyers and my team to create the best adaption of the anti-anxiety bed as possible. Then it came to me. In all of the months of heavy research, I had only seen these extremely fluffy beds. That's not going to suffice for Dash in Summer? We don't want no hot dogs! What do you then do with the bed in Summer? Where do we store them? Do we throw them out? Are we now not recycling correctly? Is this really a sustainable way of living, not just wastefully in materials, but monetary? Surely, pet beds are meant to last longer than this? But, they're not. 

This is when the birth of Bush & Tail's first creation was finally fully designed, submitted, and created. The markets ORIGINAL heat controlled & anti anxiety pet bed. A product that ISN'T seasonal. A product that has PLENTY of cushion filling. A product that I can personally guarantee you that your pet will LOVE.

Dash has had bed from when the first sample was created, 18 months ago. I wanted to make sure this product worked, and that I am 100000000% happy with it, before letting others spend their hard earned money. I can honestly say, Dash has never put himself in any dog bed we've ever had - yet he chooses to spend the majority of the day chilling out in his Bush & Tail bed. It's the first bed he hasn't pulled apart, or ripped. He hasn't pulled our rug up to get cosy since, or laid himself on the kitchen floor because he's over heated. 

After spending many months (and many coffees!) sitting in John Lewis's cafe getting everything ready to launch, we finally came to our first sale after our first batch of stock arrived in July 2024. The customer reviews already speak for themselves, and I am so pleased that this product is loved by others as much as me.
